SE I - First Liverpool Saturday Arrival In Five Weeks!

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2006

SEA EXPRESS I finally made it to Liverpool on Saturday December 09, 2006. The last Saturday sailing from Douglas operated on November 04, since then the popular day excursion sailing from Douglas to Liverpool has been cancelled due to adverse conditions with passengers being sent the great way round via Heysham. However, on a sunny Saturday morning SEA EXPRESS I can be seen heading up river towards Prince's Stage, accompanied by Svitzer's ASHGARTH which was heading from Liverpool across the river to Tranmere.

SEA EXPRESS I arrived somewhat behind schedule Having departed Douglas slightly early at 08:55 she arrived at Liverpool at 12:21. Observers reported a speed of between 22 and 24 knots being displayed on AIS.
