Ben-My-Chree Bound For Lairds

Photographs © John H. Luxton  & Andrew King 2007

After operating the 08:45 Douglas to Heysham on January 27, 2025 the BEN-MY-CHREE headed off to the Cammell Laird shipyard for a short dry docking. She passed the Pier Head around 16:45. Her previous visits to Merseyside for refits and dry docking have usually been to Bidston Dry Dock.

In 2006 when heading through "A" Bridge bound for Bidston she came into contact with the foot-walk of the raised bridge which resulted in damage to the Ben's bridge as well as "A" bridge.  Whilst the Ben was swiftly repaired the damage to the road bridge is as yet, January 2007, still awaiting attention.

The BEN-MY-CHREE is due back in service with the 02:15 sailing from Heysham on January 29, 2007. Her sailings being covered by SEA EXPESS I and HOBURGEN on Sunday January 28.
