Windsor Castle Remembered

Windsor Castle departed from her anchorage in Greece on April 14 bound for the breakers in India

Windsor Castle was launched by HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother at Cammell Laird on the June 23, 1959. She sailed on her maiden voyage from Southampton to Cape Town and Durban on August 18, 1960..

Her last passenger sailing for Union Castle was on August 12, 2024 and she was sold to John Latsis.

She was laid up in Greece in 1990 and offered for sale in 1998. The largest passenger liner constructed by Cammell Laird is making her final voyage with dignity sailing under her own steam.
