This memorial plaque is mounted on a concrete pillar at the eastern end of Ramsey harbour close to the point where the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's SS Ellan Vannin departed on her fateful voyage to Liverpool. The plaque was unveiled on the 90th Anniversary of the loss of the Ellan Vannin in 1999.
The vessel foundered in a storm close to the Liverpool Bar with the loss of all hands and passengers. |
