Solway Harvester Memorial

Douglas Head

Recognises the contribution made by the Isle of Man in recovering the wreck and bodies of the crew who perished in a storm  in January 2000.

The Memorial was dedicated in January 2001

RNLI Memorial

Depicts the Douglas Lifeboat and her volunteer crew commanded by Sir William Hillary going to the aid  of the PS St.GEORGE in 1830 which had foundered on the Conister Rock whilst attempting to enter Douglas Harbour.

The memorial to Sir William Hillary of Douglas, founder of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution overlooks Douglas Bay

David "Dawsey" Kewley Memorial

Sea Terminal

David Kewley was an employee of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and a volunteer in the Lifeboat and Coastguard Services. He was honoured three times by the Royal Humane Society. Thousands attended his funeral following his death from pneumonia in 1904. A public subscription raised the funds for the memorial which was unveiled in 1905
