|Over the last decade the rumour that Irish Continental Group, proprietors of Irish Ferries, have been looking to acquire the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company have done the rounds on the waterfront at least twice. |
However, on May 22 a thread was opened on Manx Forums which is of interest. The opening comment being:
"As above, 5 top execs from Irish Ferries on the IOM today to progress sale of the Racket to Irish Ferries.
Irish Ferries have a history of making local staff redundant and employing cheap foreign labour....suspect we might be seeing a bit more of Bob Crow and his cronies soon."
Of course there many be nothing to the rumour, it has been around before. However, as the Irish Continental Group AGM is to be held on Wednesday May 30 - it might just be the opportune time to make an announcement.
